Vishakhapatnam
A port city with a British & French past
With Eastern Ghats to the left and the Bay of Bengal on the right, Vishakhapatnam, better known as Vizag, is a city that can trace its roots to the 6th Century BC. As a disputed territory, it passed back and forth between dynasties, it was influenced by the Mughal Empire and a Buddhist king, ruled by the French and later, conquered by the British, Vizag has carved its identity as a port city, building its fortunes on trade and industrialization to emerge as a cosmopolitan hub today.
