Nepal's breathtaking lakeside town

Pokhara, a busy town at the periphery of a beautiful lake, could be compared to Geneva. A favourite stopover for trekkers, as they conquer the Annapurna circuit – one of the most scenic treks in the world, or other treks in the Annapurna or Manaslu ranges. Once on the trading route between India and China, the many hills around Pokhara still have medieval ruins. Pokhara’s location made it a magnet for Tibetan refugees, and the many monasteries and chortens give evidence to its Tibetan influence.
