Pelling
A landscape of monasteries & mountains
With little more than a stretch of road crowded with hotels on either side, Pelling town has earned a place on tourist maps because of its breathtaking panoramas of Khangchendzonga mountain range – part of the Himalayas that stretches towards the north-east part of the country. From Pelling, one can access other attractions like the Pemayangtse and the Sanga Choling monasteries, and hosts the annual Khangchendzonga festival, where adventure sports, flower exhibitions, local handicrafts, cultural dances and music take centrestage.
