Nagaur
Host of the World Spirit Music Festival & a Cattle Fair
The medieval city of Nagaur – brimming with a remarkable history of rulers and conquests – lies between the cities of Jodhpur and Bikaner. While the Tarkeen Dargah, a mausoleum erected to a Sufi saint and the Jain temple are interesting structures, the Nagaur Fort is the most dominating architectural marvel of the city. Defended by strong gates and massive ramparts, the fort contains many royal apartments and pavilions. Every year, the city of Nagaur comes alive with brilliant color and sound when it hosts the Cattle Fair and dances to the tunes of the World Sacred Spirit Music Festival.
