Badami
The architectural splendour of a bygone era
Situated between rugged outcrops, Badami was established by the Chalukya dynasty that ruled parts of central and southern India between the 6th and 12th Century. Four rock-cut cave temples depicting various colourful stories from Indian mythology, a fort with a Lord Shiva temple, a lake with curative properties, all add charm to a city that chronicles the architectural splendour of a bygone civilization.
