Recreate the colonial era in Ranakpur's countryside
It was an endeavor to recreate the past, the colonial times and the days of The Raj, an experience of the ‘real thing’ – nothing recreated or cosmetic from the menus and safaris, to the service and ambience. Most of the staff belong to the owner’s clan – the Rathores who established Jodhpur in the year 1459, though uneducated they are proud people. The Mountbatten Lodge, Ranakpur shares its boundary with The Kumbalgarh wildlife sanctuary and can boast of having two of the more important historical sights of the country at its backdoor – the famous Ranakpur Jain Temples and the Kumbhalgarh Fort.
