Day 1: Mountains Ahead, Purpose Within
Our journey began early on a warm May morning as two vans pulled out of Delhi and Gurgaon, slowly trading the city’s chaos for the serenity of winding roads and greener views. A mid-route chai stop helped shake off the sleep, but the real heartwarming moment awaited us in the outskirts of Dehradun.
We visited the Purkal Youth Development Society School, where the students greeted us with traditional Pahadi dhol beats, damau drums, and a welcoming tilak. Their joy was contagious, their stories unforgettable. A spirited performance followed by lunch with the students reminded us that impact goes far beyond metrics—it lies in connection, empathy, and shared moments.
As we continued our drive toward Atali Ganga, an eco-resort tucked away in the Himalayan foothills, the river Ganga quietly accompanied us—a silent guide flowing beside us. That evening, as we settled into our hillside cottages, tea in hand, the air felt different. We had arrived not just at the resort, but at a new state of mind.
The day ended with relaxed conversations, soft laughter, and a laid-back dinner under the stars.
Day 2: Adrenaline, Trust, and Unfiltered Joy
We woke to birdsong and cool mountain air—no alarms needed. After breakfast, we took a forest trail hike, the silence only broken by rustling leaves and shared smiles. For a while, even our phones felt forgotten.
Then came the thrill. We hit the Ganga for a 16 km white-water rafting adventure, navigating Class III and IV rapids like Three Blind Mice, Roller Coaster, and The Golf Course. Laughter echoed over the water as we paddled through the rapids—working as one team, soaked in both water and adrenaline.
Later that afternoon, we challenged ourselves on a High Ropes Course led by our energetic instructor, Ms. Sunita. Suspended mid-air, we climbed, crawled, and balanced our way through obstacles that demanded both mental focus and group trust.
And as dusk fell, the real show began—karaoke night by the pool. Voices rose, hidden talents emerged, and spontaneous dance-offs brought the house down. It was the kind of uninhibited joy you only find when the WiFi is weak, but the vibes are strong.
Day 3: Parting with Peace, Returning with Purpose
Our final morning was slow, soulful. We split into two groups for lunch—some visited the peaceful Amrit Bhawan, while others experienced the heritage charm of Pilibhit House in Haridwar. Both offered a final moment of stillness by the Ganga before we made our way back to the cities.
Reflections: What We Took Back
This offsite wasn’t just a trip. It was a collective pause, realignment, and rediscovery. We came back lighter, stronger, and more connected—not just because of the rivers we rafted or the songs we sang, but because of the stories we shared and the memories we created.
