Let me start by saying this tour was a great experience for myself and my wife. I had been in India some 40 years ago and was very surprised and delighted to see how much had changed .. for a better life. India is now a modern 21st century country which brings with it a new set of challenges to Indian society.

The tour itself was fascinating - a mix of old and new, a conflagration of tourist hot spots and small city and village visits, the Pushkar festival and the musical chair race, and above all the welcoming hospitality of Indian people to their international guests. Travel Scope made the tour absolutely easy and comfortable through its attention to all details and preparedness to go a bit further in ensuring our India visit was not just a tour but an experience. Around every corner was a new adventure!

It was comforting to be met by company representatives at each stage of the our tour and special mention must be given to the efforts of Rana and his excellent tour guiding and to Mr Singh for his excellent driving - at no time did we feel unsafe in the journey between cities and landmarks.

What we loved most about India was both cultural and spiritual. It truly is a country with a mystical soul as we met friendly people at all walks of life and enjoyed the amazing history - through the archaeology of the (Ajanta - Ellora) caves to the architecture of Mumbai and Agra and the art and craft of the clothing, rugs and stoneware. Of course, we would be remiss not to mention the most outstanding tour guide in the world, Gajraj Singh. He was most informative about everything India, fluidly answered all our questions without hesitation and kept the group in line. We only hope that we could return someday to tour with Raj and your wonderful tour company again.

I just wanted to check in with you and let you know how amazing your local tour group Travel Scope was. They were so reliable and thorough. The complete transition between places was so smooth. They were always on time. The guides were great, especially our Taj Mahal guide. Wow. What a great day. Thank you so much. I highly recommend the Oberoi as well. For such a chaotic country, it is an oasis of peace and serenity.

We wanted to reach out to thank you for your help and efforts in making our trip the most outstanding trip that we have ever take. We are very seasoned travelers (we have more than 50 countries under our belts), and we have some extraordinary experiences, but the time we spent in India (and Dubai and Nepal) was superb. Travel Scope was outstanding and all of their ground staff and guides looked after us exceptionally well - understated and professional (the understated comment is a huge compliment, because they were able to calibrate the level of hand-holding needed to our liking).

All of our logistics worked flawlessly and our time together as a family allowed us to experience and remember India in a very personal and memorable way (BTW - the room rate for the Park Hyatt for 12/31 did include the mandatory Gala dinner - this was one of the best New Year's Eve events that we have ever been at, and we highly recommend it).

Please thank Mohan and his entire staff (especially Anoop) for providing great service. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone planning to visit India.

Travel Scope did an excellent job in coordinating our tour and will definitely contact you for future clients. All your guides are knowledgeable and kept it interesting. What I liked most of all is their ability to adjust. As you very well know, travelers are not all the same - some would like a lengthy explanation and others, like us, would rather have the time to appreciate the place without information overload. Also, I like that we were not brought to any store in the guise of showing us “artisans” like our guides in Nepal & Dubai. It is a major turnoff that many of today's tours incorporate commercialism into their venture. Unless specifically requested by the guests, I think shops should be avoided at all cost as it is a waste of precious time.

Mohan - You gave me the experience of a lifetime. My heart and soul have been deeply moved by the trip. Your organization was so excellent and kind we could not have asked for anything more except more time.

I must start not with the sights, colors, or even the history, but rather with our guide Deepinder Rajawat, who is at or near the top of all of the guides who we have met through ATJ.  Simply put the trip does not happen without him (with an able assist from our driver Kuldeep). Deep was just a lovely guy - extremely knowledgeable and articulate.  He never left a question unanswered.  He also handled my significant physical limitations with remarkable aplomb and dignity, even though he acknowledged that I was his first client relying almost exclusively on a wheelchair.  Somehow he managed to get me to virtually every major site and moment, to the banks of the Ganges (twice) down many steps, into a boat on Lake Pichola, and into the Jain Temple outside Udaipur (up many stairs).  Somehow there was always a way.  He likewise coordinated with the hotels to ensure that our accommodations would work for us.   The hotel staffs were likewise remarkable, particularly at the Aman and the Oberoi in Udaipur (perhaps the most beautiful hotel we have ever had the good fortune to stay at).

The magic of the sights you know well.  The Taj Mahal, of course, but we loved the Aarti festival in Varanasi, the small museum in Sarnath (with three particular sculptural treasures), the Amber Fort in Jaipur, a rickshaw ride through the markets in Delhi, our boat ride on Lake Pichola, the fort at Chittorgarh with the amazing tower from the 15th c.  We also had a fun dinner in Delhi with our local hosts in Delhi which ended up being a discussion of movies, rock and roll and jazz, rather than an exegesis on Sufiism.  And at a dinner with our host at Shahpura Bagh, he ended the meal by showing us his most precious family heirloom, the land grant to his family in 1631 by Shah Jahan (who built the Taj), complete with his palm print.

So we thank you for arranging such a special trip.

A trip to India has been #1 on my bucket list for a very long time.  When I told Sheila that I wanted to do this she jumped on board.  It’s beyond wonderful to share the experience with people you love.  Your showing India to us in the manner in which you did exceeded my expectations to the fullest.

In briefing my office of the trip, I stressed how everything worked like clockwork.   We were taken and met and shown your country in a manner so gracious, gentle and kind.  Without sounding patronizing, this was, and is, the finest trip I’ve ever taken to the most interesting diverse country to which I have traveled.

I thank you for taking us to Haridwar.  We saw, in miniature, what we wanted to see in Varanasi.  We also want to thank you for changing our hotel without a question or a whimper from you.  So smoothly done.   It was painless for us and I hope not too painful for you.
